How much one of those cost? gonna look into it to have a nurse rub my balls.
Well...if you wait until after you have covered your annual deductible...it is free
Check with your insurance even if you haven't met your deductible. Some will cover it anyway since for them it's cheaper than paying for childbirth.

Surprised you had any pain at all after the first shot to the scrote. I felt some pressure but zero pain.

Hell I asked the doc prop me up so I could watch the procedure. I've known him for years so he didn't mind and talked me through what he was doing every step.

Get a bag or 2 of frozen corn or frozen peas!!!
And add the need for a couple of extra “sample” collections for your SO to help you collect

I just had mine done. The actual shots sucked, but the tugging and pulling was the worse part. 7/10 on misery scale. The pain pills arent really helping.

A guy at work years ago fell out of his chair onto the floor, sweating and in serious pain. We (coworkers) didn't know wtf was wrong so called an ambulance.
This dumb mofo had a vasectomy and was out mowing his yard the next day in the heat. Listen to your doctors!

That brings up another recommendation I have for anyone considering the procedure. Some docs will perform the procedure with a single incision and some with two (one per side). The idea behind the single incision is that there's less trauma to the scrotum than with two cuts.
BUT, the other side of that is that sometimes with a single incision they have to dig around to find and retrieve the tubing they're looking for and pull it out of the incision to sever the tubes. That's virtually eliminated with two incisions and is usually worth the trade off of making an additional incision.

I got 2 incisions and doc put 2 titanium clamps to ensure nothing ever grows back.

Yep, the doc who did mine told a similar story of a guy who felt so "normal" the next day that he went on his customary 5 mile run. Doc got the call from the ER of his patient with nuts swollen to the size of softballs.
Echo: Listen to the docs and sit on your arse for a couple days and light duty for the rest of the week.

What kind of painkillers did they give you?
I was given 15 Norco 7.5's, but the doc said I likely wouldn't need them. He was mostly right. I took one when I got home, then saved the rest for more suitable circumstances. Ibuprofen was effective enough for the pain by the next day.

Ah, I didn't get clamps and most guys I've known who did experienced more discomfort that I did. My doc said the protocol calls for removing (forgot actual amount) ~2 cm of tubing and he removes more like 5 and that the elasticity of the tubes will retract them even further apart with one end retracting into the abdomen while the other remains in the scrotum. So the possibility of spontaneous re connection is microscopically remote. I asked about cauterizing the ends and he said it wouldn't make a difference since the burnt ends would eventually slough off and, if the ends were allowed to remain close enough, could spontaneously reconnect. Removing the extra tubing provided better, more certain, results.

I only got 5 hydrocodone tablets. Stingy doc.

Actually, I got mixed up. I got 15 when I had a kidney stone. For the vasectomy, I only got 6 I think.

Whitey tighteys. Sounds silly but having your balls fully supported is something you will appreciate.
You will not heed the warning and wear boxer briefs or compression shorts and your balls will hit the inside of your thighs and drop you.

For you fellas considering it, my experience.
Actually procedure took about 7-8 minutes. Slight amount of pain, maybe a 5 on scale of 1 -10. Female nurse rubbed my nuts for a bit before.
All and all not too bad so far, however I am only 10 minutes out of the procedure. Pain pills and football coming soon! Geaux Tigers!
Welcome to the club baw!
Keep the ice on them boys
When you THINK you are ready for activity...give it one more day. I rushed mine and felt pain for another week because of it.
