When I first saw that design I figured it was a recipe for someone to get killed at a McDonald's. Not sure what it is about McDonald's but people lose their shite there in the parking lot. Frickers fly thru there going 90mph

McDonalds...where even if you're the only car in the drive-thru, you will wait a minimum of 10 minutes before receiving your order.

I hate the double drive thru. One instance where I never know what the proper etiquette is is when the car in front of me orders and pulls up, and then I order and complete my order before the car in the other lane finishes. So it would normally have been their turn, but I finished my order first.
But I can't pull all the way up because the line is backed up. And by this time the person in the other lane has completed their order.
So should I let that person in front of me to continue the alternating pattern? Or should I keep following the car in front of me since I finished ordering before the person in the other lane?
