who needs until April to know what happened last year?

There’s no excuse to claim that amount of time.

That’s not u common for large companies. It takes awhile to go through that shite. Individual performance is the last thing considered.

Bonus allocations are based on year performance of the company - the performance of the division - the performance of the business unit - the performance of the department of the department - the performance of the team - any real cost caused to the company by that team for the year - performance of the individual. That’s a lot of stuff that needs to be in order before an incentive allocation can be named. Why do you think it takes companies till March to announce Q4 earnings.

Also, it incentivizes workers to stay on through at least April to get that bonus.

Should be 22% + 6% + 1.45% unless you already maxed out your SSN LINK

You mean like election fraud, gerrymandering, and primary fixing to ensure your vote doesn’t actually matter in most cases?

Yeah, but look at all of the hard work the government did to earn 42% of your bonus.

no he didn't

Is that correct

probably, usually bonuses(bonii?) have the maximum deductions taken out of them, not what you've got on your W-4, if you're in a lower tax bracket it will be adjusted when your 2021 income tax return is prepared

frick Joe Biden either way

The fact more aren't up in arms about this is troubling.

The government taking 42% of anything is bullshite. The people ought to just stop paying fricking taxes.

No, I mean like literally not being allowed to vote at all.

I think most realize this guy is misreading/misunderstanding his paycheck and the way tax withholdings work.

You will get it back filing taxes. Will just be at your marginal tax rate.

The bonus will make his marginal rate go higher. Just as his bonus was overtaxed, all of his other checks were undertaxed.

Example: Let’s say I make $10,000 per month, $120,000 per year. The government sees that monthly check, and taxes me at a marginal rate suitable for $120,000 per year. When I get a $5,000 bonus the IRS sees $15,000 and withholds taxes as though I’m getting $180,000 per year.

Both withholdings were wrong. Actual income is $125,000, so 11 months were taxed a little too low, and one month was taxed a lot too high.
