I had it last September and I’m still getting sense of smell back.

For those of you that have had it, how long (on average) did it take to get it back?
Just hope you are not like my wife. She got covid late last September, got through it 8 - 10 days, and since January 2022 has gone steadily down hill with lung/oxygen function. Got put on oxygen 4 weeks ago and had lung biopsies last Friday, not looking good. Going to pulmonologist again Monday but doubt he has any solution.

I am about 15 days post Vid and will say I got about 70% back. But some times I smell things that I know aren’t their. Other day started smelling dog shite had four or five people sniff test they got nothing five minutes later never smelled it again smelled roasted garlic in my truck for about five minutes.
Read an article said it could be up to eight to ten weeks.

Only lost taste/smell for a couple days but, about 5 months for sinuses to get back right.

one year later and I have what I guess to be around 30% taste and smell.
most foods taste or smell distorted, which is very frustrating.

Just imagine how bad it would have been have you not gotten that “vaccine”.

had Delta back in October 2021, lost sense of smell and taste on day 4 or 5. Had taste back within day 10, smell by Day 11.
Wife had it at the same time, but was a couple days behind me in terms of symptoms and recovery.
The smell of Coffee is one thing that has permanently changed for me...I can't smell the differences between different types of coffee like I used to, but can taste the difference.
The smell/taste of eggs as well. Its not that I can't stand them, I just can recognize that its different after COVID.
Funny thing is, these longer term symptoms showed up about 3 months after the initial infection.

Mine came back over course of almost 2 months.
Loss of smell is far worse. It's a safety issue.

I’m just getting over it too. This is my 2nd go with it. Last time I didn’t lose taste/smell but this time the only discernible taste I can id is salt. Also, been having restless leg syndrome at night which sucks.

10 months later and the fiance says most meat still smells like shite to her. Makes grocery shopping a nightmare.

Took about 3 or 4 days for my taste and smell to come back 100%

I thought body odor had vanished until 3 weeks ago.

Why? A test isn’t going to make you feel better.
How about so I don’t go around spreading it like the rest of the nasty arse people.

I had og rona, so it might not be the dame, but my taste was back in just over 2 weeks of losing it. Smell took like 9 months
