I do, you're right. My wife made me do it.

Thought it was a joke at first and someone trying to scam us. Then his wife sent me some pics to go check out on her FB and my wife immediately said, "he's your son".

Yep they should definitely do some type of DNA testing to see how much they share. Wish there was some kind of at home test to use.

The internet and Ancestry.com replaced uncomfortable phone calls wanting to know family health history.

That your DNA is also going to be used to solve several cold cases from the late 80’s/early 90’s.

Also, the fallout from the OT for not including photos of said “one night stand”.

You owe his mom at me minimum $60K for unpaid child support.

Yes

I’d want a second opinion, I don’t think that’s too much to ask

However, Ancestry does not use the standard Y-chromosome and/or mitochondrial DNA methodologies most others use -- so we know less about how they actually analyze DNA.

How do you feel about this? Obviously it worked out for everyone involved, but in the end you missed out on your son’s life. I really don’t know how I would feel about it.

Big question is what are your thoughts on it? Are you pissed you missed out on his life? Or relieved if you weren’t ready at 19?

Happened to a buddy of mine after a wild night at the Florabama. He found out when the kid was a teenager. They spent a few holidays together at first but drifted apart and are not in contact much.

Nah, not ready to do that. My kids are teens themselves.
And this guy already has young children so to make it worse, I'm actually a grandfather.
Trust me, you don't want to see pics of the mom. My wife pulled her up to show her to me and she looks nothing like I remember.
Kid does look like me though. Just wanted some advice from anyone who may have had something like this happen to them.
On one hand if I foster the relationship, this involves grandchildren, holidays, etc.
On the other hand, I barely remembered the mom's name and she didn't even know mine. The man's wife says the child was raised by grandparents and he didn't have a relationship with his mom and says she would never tell her who his father was. I think it's because she didn't know.
Yes, trashy... I know. We were 18 and met at a bar.

I mean I guess it's better than having Ancestry.com linking you to an unsolved murder but congrats on the sex?
