It’s prob been over 15 years since I’ve been through there. What a freaking dump. I’m sure there might be some nice areas off the beaten path, but I’ve never seen such filth. I didn’t see one exit I’d feel safe getting off of and stopping to use the bathroom. Not one!

What started this downtown and made this area so dumpy? Not just an exit or two but the entire I-20 corridor through the city.

Well downtown is like the Alamo, and you are completely surrounded by General Santa Culcha’ There is a ring of crap surrounding downtown.

You know the answer. You may not like it, but it’s true.

What productive people are left have retreated down I-49 towards the southeast. Desoto and bossier parish growth over the last twenty years is due to the great leadership from town.

20 years ago I drove this same route many times 1-20 and even back then I never pulled off to eat or go to the bathroom. I can't imagine now.

Started dying in the 90s. The Square used to be kickass, but the brain drain and demographic shifts destroyed what was left of the city.

I've got two grandkids staying with me so they do not have to go to school in Shreveport. They'll go to middle and high school here.

Mid to Late 2000’s people were very high on this area due to Haynesville Shale and Cyber Command. Seems like that optimism went by the wayside rather quickly.

Honeslty, I know a lot of super smart kids that went to the Magnet schools (Byrd or CM) in Shreveport. I don't know about all of the lower schools though.
