Man I lived in Harahan 20 years ago and remember the cops not fricking around and being on point.. I remember calling the cops because a drunk dude parked in our driveway and turned the lights off and they were there in like a minute .. guess shits changed a lot
It’s still unwise to mess up in Harahan.
I posted about the mess in NOLA.

They should have been dismembered on the spot.

7000 block of Willow isn’t right next to Audubon Blvd and Tulane Campus? Think you’re talking about 8400 block of Willow
Yes. Broadway is the cross street for the 7200 block. Carrollton splits the 8000 and 8100 blocks.
Upriver from Carrollton was always sketchy.

They love the colored handguns out there, back in the day some teedy disciple was robbing people all day with this blue handgun, got a bunch of Tulane students. Never heard of him gettting caught , must’ve committed over 20 robberies

But but but Jeff Landry...state police. Blah blah.

It's close enough to the school. That is almost certainly student housing. Not that home invasions should be happening, but that area has never been safe and unfortunately some college students are involved in drugs and get crosswise with dealers and this kind of stuff happens. Again, this should not be happening but this is nothing new for that part of town. In a lot of ways the Tulane student experience is the wild west.

We have a problem with a certain aspect of our population. Are we going to act surprised every time this stuff happens?
Any city anywhere in the world with a similar problem is going to have the same events occurring. It will never get better, so just move on. I honestly wish news outlets would just stop reporting on it.

Hmmmmmm. No descriptions of any of the perpetrators. Wonder why?
I'm assuming the NOPD feels they don't have to release that information because it's a given. My office is in the CBD and couldn't tell you the last time I saw a marked NOPD vehicle. Not the parked ones with no one in them, but one actually patrolling.

I know but looking at your name I was wondering what Harahan was looking like these days. I guess a good question to ask would be .. how far out of Nola proper does one need to live to escape the bullshite ?

I was in Harahan near Elmwood and the river for about 8 years and never had a problem.
Away from the river, like the Creeks apartments and a little down Hickory have had incidents with NOLA hood rats coming out to break into cars and one carjacking. Both times the JPSO made arrests, and unlike Orleans, the Jefferson judges don’t release them.
