Just a reminder if you are ordering food for pickup, support your locally owned restaurants. They're hurting and could use your patronage.

Just picked up some burgers from a local place. They're always nice with good service, but the girl, I could tell, was genuinely appreciative.

I’m supporting the hell out of them. I’m especially focused on the ones who have always been there to donate food and gift cards and such to our school and church events

What about the local employees of chains that are hurting? Or the local franchisee?

Don’t have to be a restaurant to be a local company in need of support baw!

You could be a local roofing company.... speaking of.... what happened with the hot scandalous chick sleeping with clients husbands?

Don’t forget about the little small places staffed by the owners too.

My SO just got Ingas on Brightside and said the lady told him they are very slow. I imagine with the students gone, they’re hardly getting any business. And since they’re not somewhere trendy-ish with alcohol, they’re suffering.

She doesn't like you, bro. It's her job to be pleasant with everybody.

They are hurting too but Buffalo Wild Wings will be back after this is over. A lot of the smaller local places will just fold.

I would add that it's also a good time for those that have steady work right now to buy gift certificates from some local businesses you frequent (music/book shops, barbers etc etc) that are closed due to measures right now.

Friend,

I've eaten at Chili’s thrice, and once the chips were so bad I vomited for three straight days and swore off tortilla chips for five years. Consider that -- a place that made me give up such a bland food item for that many years. By the time I got to the lava chocolate cake, my stomach was so knotted I projectile vomited the dessert on my server's shoes. I felt bad at the time, but it wasn't really my fault.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

Meh.. I'm getting kind of sick of the support local bullshite.. These same small businesses have been higher priced and overcharging their customers for years and now all of a sudden I have to go bail them out? frick all that.
