think the Police Supt is genuinely pissed. I doubt Rahm is, that’s an act.

I'm not sure what Rahm expects to gain by acting pissed. Makes me think it's genuine. Surprising, but genuine.

maybe. Maybe not. People were adamant he was involved a second ago, he trashes smolett live and now it's he's putting on a show.

He’s trying to repair his anti cop image. He took major heat for selling out the cops after that kid was shot a while back. Tin foil hats for everyone.

There's a connection via Harris.
However claiming her (Obama) direct involvement is a stretch. But it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility.

What do the Obamas have to gain by the charges against this dude getting dropped?

Keep in mind that no one thinks this exonerates him. Everyone thinks he paid his way out.

Plenty of posters on Reddit think this exonerates them. I reply to these idiots asking if this exonerates them, then that means there are 2 racist white men out there at-large. Why hasn't a manhunt gotten underway?

The Obamas gain because Kamala Harris and Cory Booker were behind this.

Joe Magats, the top deputy for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, suggested the charges were dropped as part of a deal with Smollett. Magats told New York Times reporter Julie Bosman, “We didn’t exonerate him.” Magats added that he stood by the investigation and charges against Smollett, but that officials agreed to drop the case as long as Smollett did community service and forfeited his bond to the city of Chicago.

There has to be more to the "deal"

Maybe, but maybe not. He's a lame duck mayor who didn't bother running again because his voter base even turned on him. He's not really beholden to the political machine anymore, so there's no benefit to keep up an act here.

Because high up political players are involved. Kamala, Booker, Michelle O.

It baffles me how many people think the Obamas are clean. The media whitewashed them for 10 years and still do, acting like they are without blemish, but come on. They are corrupt to the bone, as are all political players from Chicago.

Common sense, people

so why drop the charges? Is he going to offer some information to solve a child trafficking case in Chicago? Don't know this dude has to offer that'd make them drop the charges.

This has done nothing to really benefit Booker or Harris.

Neither of them are winning the nomination, anyway, so I sincerely doubt the Obamas give a shite about rehabilitating their image following the “modern day” lynching bonanza.

And Reddit at large thinks it’s outrageous, just as everyone here does.

No the police chose to squander major resources because they got caught up in the media frenzy. They had 12 fricking detectives on the case at one time. Talk about waste of the taxpayers money.

To be fair to the police that is a result of the media and higher ups making it a big deal. Had CPD put 2 detectives on it and the investigation took three months then they would’ve been torn apart.

Yea, Rahm just surprised the hell out of me. He isn't too happy either.

What is he supposed to say? He has to faux outrage.

Would make total sense if his star was still burning brightly, but it isn't

He could have reinforced his faith in the prosecutors instead of shitting all over them.

This was not the only response available to Rahm.

No, that would be federal, I believe.

But I didn’t think they had any proof that he sent the letter to himself.

Rahm going in on Jussie.

"How dare he come out and say that he's still innocent?!" Saying with all the facts presented and the evidence that the grand jury saw, it's clear he's lying. Saying he used hate crime laws to try and boost his own career and it just waters down real hate crimes.

Wow, I'm stunned by his comments.

Holy shite. Guess I need to take him off my list of Obama connections posted earlier.

How “connected” are Jussie Smollett and Michelle Obama? And how does that make it likely that she would save an irredeemable pariah from a felony charge?

Your original post said you wondered how long it would take before Obama was brought into this. I answered why they were being connected. Obviously I can't explain if and why Michelle Obama is personally vouching for Jussie. Again, this is something I shouldn't have to be explaining to you

I love it. One of the top people in charge of prosecuting him says "He wasn't exonerated, he cut a deal."

MSNBC and CNN: EXONERATED!
