So should the same apply when a cop kills an innocent civilian? Beating a suspect is not justify under any circumstance when the person is not resisting unless they had a weapon which it seems this guy did. Cops are to enforce The law not be judge, jury and executioner.

I remember it, my cousin lived on Redbud and I'd spend a lot of time there. Seemingly overnight it turned ghetto.
What pissed me off is HUD keeps doing this. Repeatedly. And no politicians say a word Bc landlords and apartment complexes are making money. So suburbs are built further out, the trash catches up eventually, and the suburbs have to move further out. Repeat. Don't want a project in your neighborhood? You must be racist.

If a cop purposely killed an innocent civilian I am all for him being beat. However that is rarely the case. Mistaken identity and/or making an honest mistake while doing an incredibly dangerous job where seconds can be the difference between life and death is far different than purposely taking the life of another individual for personal gain. I have no problem with him being beat, once again he is lucky to still be alive. Coddling those committing crimes and worrying about "rights" is a direct cause of all this senseless violence. It's pathetic that everyone is suddenly a "victim"

it's like they're doing it on purpose to aid N.O. in gentrification... notice the four new buildings in St. Bernard that we went through the court case for, notice the West Bank, Metairie, and Slidell declining...
and they have the nerve to say people don't want to live in suburbs anymore

This shite pisses me off so much.
So what if a policeman catches you with a gun. It's not worth murder.
Come on man. Come on.
Big whoop. You have no business taking another life because you aren't straight.

Another note. This is strange, because literally just this week I was randomly wondering what ever happened to the other officer who was shot named Stephen Arnold?
I can't find any updates on that.

Yesterday when I heard the terrible news of this officer being killed in the line of duty, I immediately said this is the second officer this year for JPSO. Someone corrected me and I recollected that Arnold did survive and I too wondered how his condition was. Prayers for both families of these officers.

It is times like these that criminals who admit to killing their victims should be removed from the face of the earth immediately. There is no reason the State of LA should support this piece of shite for the next 50 to 60 years at Angola. He should not have been able to see daylight this morning.

This a-hole chose to break the law. He was caught. He chose to break more laws and chose to commit a crime he knew carried the death penalty. He chose to receive the death penalty. I am with you on letting him have what he chose with the quickness.
Beyond any life insurance that he may have carried, what does the city/parish/state do to financially provide for the future of the LEO's family in these situations? They have needs, immediate and long term.

The politicians of Jefferson Parish are failing. I wouldn't be surprised if these HUD developments can be traced to developers with monetary ties to Jefferson Parish politicians and bureaucrats.
This scum may have been from New Orleans but he was undoubtedly visiting "cousins" in Jefferson.
In addition Newell has showed his allegiance to the Democratic Party of the state with his behavior and allegiance to Edwards. His attitude toward the sanctuary city bill sent a message that he is unconcerned with assisting in the enforcement of laws and shows no comprehension of the rapid demographic and economic change which will turn Jefferson into "New Orleans West".

officer observed a car following another car close. Person in car 1 was nervous and scared on phone with girlfriend.
Both cars seemed to be pulled over according to Normand. Told car 1 to scram. Got perp out of car, tried to search him. Perp flipped around, belly to belly, and shot officer over his shoulder into his back. Officer fell to ground and he fired 2 more shots into his back, point blank.
I was told by a JP that the shooter was on foot following the victim, officer noticed the victim looked nervous turning around looking at the shooter following him.
like you said, officer pulled over or something went to go pat him down and the guy spun shooting officer at base of neck in back. Shot two more times. Also nobody around helped the officer what so ever with stopping bleeding or nothing. All stood around filming.

So there were no vehicles?
Also curious if the Michel was in uniform or plain clothes.

Michel was driving in a vehicle unmarked i believe.
I'm pretty sure he would have been in plain clothes. He had just come from some warehouse building or something they have and was meeting a group for lunch possibly or something.
This is all 2nd hand info so i'm not absolutely sure all facts are accurate.

It's been said for years that Butch Ward is the reason that garbage on Deerfield in terrytown was built.
I'm sure there is some payoffs to politicians. Subsidized housing must be lucrative for everyone involved Bc there's no other logical reason it's allowed.
