I think people who are deep into online team politics start imagining the “other side” as a single hivemind made up of every insane tweet, activist, fringe professor, random Reddit post, and blue-check meltdown they’ve ever seen. Same thing happens in reverse. People stop seeing coalitions made of millions of normal people with internal disagreements and start seeing a cartoon faction where every member owns every dumb opinion produced anywhere under the label.

Nowhere in the OP did he say the comedian should be arrested or fined. The irony here is all the "pro 2nd amendment sky screamers" are in here doing the same thing ya'll are bashing OP for. All he did was voice an opinion, pretty nonchalantly if you ask me. Yet we are several pages in with people acting like OP called the police I mean, ya'll are more worked up than he is
