No, the lesson is that in life, you do what you want to do until you die. That's just how Walton lived his life.

Fair enough. They can both be true and informative.

Guess they didn't listen to the show. Where else would Mr. Eaux get a job.

Man he was posting stories about Muslims beheading Christians only 2 weeks ago per his FB page.

What’s his TD handle?

I would counter that based on the derangement of the Left, based on the violence of Antifa/SJWs, and the push to socialism, and away from free speech... those old guys were ahead of their time to criticize what they observed the last 10-12 years.

Eh they were just as pissed off and bitter as the left media folk you mock now, you just agreed with their view point.

They wouldn’t even try to reign in their callers at all back then

Caller: I heard Obama is about to pass a law and they’re going to come round up our guns next month
Them: Yep!

Disagreeing with the other side is one thing but they lost any semblance of rationality somewhere along the way and just became contributors to the current level of toxicity that political discussion has become,

Checked out of that show long ago but would still listen here and there when they still came on 98.1 here, haven’t heard them at all since they left. Still it was a funny show when that’s all they wanted to be, a funny morning talk show.

Started listening to them in the 90s when they lived in NOLA. Johnson use to be my neighbor in Beau China. Great Guys. Didn't listen as much when they went crazy with the Obama stuff but started again after Trump and they were better. Very Sad

Rip Walton and thanks for years of laffs.
Besides being a great straight man, you were the only source of news I could listen to during the Obama years.
Damn. We lost a true voice in the wilderness today.

How old was he? I'm thinking he must have been in his 70s at least. He was a DJ long before the Walton & Johnson show and that started over 35 years ago.

Oh come on. I disagreed with him all the time and his rants were eye rolling, but they were harmless. They just had a dumb gimmick like every other morning show.

Whoa.

I knew he was ill, but didn't know it was gonna be the end for him. That voice has been a part of my life from the early 90s and on, and I for one, will be saddened in its absence.

His rips on OJ were epic.
fricking epic.

Godspeed, you surly old bastard.
Godspeed.

I believe he said that he was born in 1953.

He threatened to kick my arse on more than one occasion and got JPSO to bring me in for questioning once but I hold no grudge and feel sorry for what he went through with his son. I hope he has found peace.

He will be missed. Went from listening to Cajun Ken Cooper on Q93(?) to W&J in NOLA as a young kid. W&J have pretty much been on my hole life. Sorry to see him go.

Sucks that he couldn't overcome whatever he was sick with. I was hoping he would return soon and they made it sound like his return was imminent.

Like a lot of others, I'd been listening to them since my high school years. Going to be a different drive into work now for sure. I doubt the show can continue as it is now. Kenny has been doing an ok job, but Walton and Johnson complimented each other so well, that I don't see them going far after this.
