RIP Mr. Prine. I was fortunate enough to have grown up on your beautiful, sad, and hilarious music, and to have seen you almost two dozen times in concert. I'll be sure to indoctrinate my kids with your songwriting the way my dad did to me.
I'm going to have my first cry in several years now. frick.
Yep. This one is rough. He had a great life and beat the reaper a time or two along the way. What he has left us with is a genuine window into the world, as he saw it. It will be hard to listen for a while, but those songs are gold and should be cherished by all.

Had tickets to see him in concert next month. Hate to hear this news. He is a legend and will be missed.

He was suppose to be at Jazzfest this year. Seen him a couple of times. One of the great song writers of our time

Damn I saw him live in London during summer school many many years ago. I can’t believe he was that old

Fond memories of listening to his albums with my dad when I was a kid.
Just another reminder of how much I miss my father who passed away almost 15 years ago. Rest in peace. Think I will listen to Paradise tonight in honor of both.

A man writes a song,
But if nobody listens,
It’s like not a soul ever heard,
But if he plucks the strings,
Well the notes carry on,
And can touch without saying a word,
Even though he’s long gone,
His lines still remain,
And can change a man he’s never met,
So though he’s in the grave,
His mem’ry lives on,
And so he’ll go on living for yet,
It’s nothing but mem’ries,
That keep the ones who’ve passed Alive,
And just in our mem’ries,
Can the things that they shared here survive,
And so if you’re listening,
Feeling something inside from a song,
Just know they’re still living,
They’ve been living in you all along.”

This was a bad idea. I passed out around 4 I think. And today is the one day I have a video conference scheduled. At least it's not until 1.
