Where is the school. I have heard of it, but I never heard where it is.

What does this mean? I've seen discipline mentioned a few times in this thread regarding St. Pius, anyone care to share specifics?
They've actually lightened up a bit with so many kids leaving. But they were very strict on what shoes kids could wear, what socks they could wear. They would make girls kneel on the ground and make sure their skirt touched the ground. Kids are not allowed to speak AT ALL during lunch, and for some unknown reason they took the microwave away so kids that bring their lunch can't heat it up.
Just a bunch of meaningless dumb shite.
Like I said, my kids got a really good education there, but all the other BS was uncalled for. Not to mention Mr. Hebert and his damn bullhorn. I'm sure any other Pius parents will know what I mean.

Nope. The teachers have a cup that sits on a table, when the kids get their food, the cup gets turned upside down. There is absolutely no talking until it gets turned back over.

Cot damn. I am glad my son doesn't go to that school. He never shuts up.

Kracka, it’s located on the Breaux Bridge highway near the Diocese HQ, on the old Brothers of DeLasalle campus.

The one thing I liked about Pius is that they don't put up with any kid that would slow the other kids down. Every year the parents would have a 1 on 1 meeting with an administrator who would let you know how your kid is doing. I know of at least 3 people who were told "your kid is not St Pius material and must find another school." One had an older sister that was a straight A student and they pulled both of them. Another was a big donor with 3 kids there and they pulled all 3. Another is a pretty prominent doctor that had, I believe, 7 kids there. He pulled all of them.
Long story short, no matter who you are, you have to meet academic and behavioral criteria to stay.

I don't know what the deal is with this, but the kids at my sons school in New Iberia aren't allowed to do this too. BUT, in the schools defense, they don't enforce it unless the kids start getting loud and approaching rowdy.

That is the only logical reason I can see why this rule is in place.

does the archdiocese send you a ham at Christmas? It should with the amount of tuition you've been paying.
Had put two thru and I still get asked for donations. Last one finished in 2003.

I hate hearing a kid is upset with going to school each day due to the behavior of other kids. Mine went through a bit of that this year (5th grade girl at Pius), but is happier now. It’s really hard when they are miserable, but there are mean kids at every school. My girl has gone from K-5 at Pius but our son didn’t join until 6th grade and it was MUCH harder on him academically and socially. I’d check cathedral, Fatima and even st Cecilia before JPG.
ETA: regarding the RIDICULOUS rules for those asking: not op.
The kids absolutely do talk during lunch. I’ve been in the cafeteria for various reasons and they do talk. They don’t scream or act like animals, however.
There is a rule book with uniform regulations and behavior guidelines. Follow it and no problems. Yes free dress days suck because they are very tight with the idea of “free dress”. Other than that it’s just normal rules. I don’t think my kid has received an infraction for behavior...ever. Now, leaving her chromebook in the wrong class or not being prepared for class does happen and it’s 100 percent on her.
They also don’t allow lunches brought in. If you are careful you can bring a doctors note to allow it. Worked for us.
