Everybody with a brain knows this

School restrictions on kids under 12 or so is insane

I’m just got an email that the summer camp my kids are at will require masks for all ages starting tomorrow and if a kid coughs or sneezes they’re being sent home regardless of cause.

frick this. My 5 year old is required to wear a mask and seasonal allergies aren’t allowed in camps anymore.

How are working parents supposed to deal with this insane nonsense. I hope enough people email the school that they reverse their decision. I did.

FALSE! Shame on you for posting such an obvious falsehood!

No, that you think your kids are representative of kids as a whole.

Nah. I just figure I’ve seen enough kids slightly older than mine wearing masks that it doesn’t bug them that much. But fair enough. It’s a bad take. I concede to your collective wisdom.

Im trying to think how much I would hate my parents when I became an adult if I found out in my childhood they put a mask on me, kept me from friends, kept me from activities, etc etc all for something they knew was not a risk for me but they were burdening me as the child with the protection of adults that can make their own decisions

I would never speak to them

I have four year old twins who have no issues wearing a mask on an airplane, so… no. I have experience with preschool kids.
Is that supposed to be the same thing as wearing a mask for 8 hours a day, five days a week, for an entire school year?

And that's great that your twins have no issues. But that's not representative of all kids. And as somebody else said, anytime a parent brags on how well behaved or how great his kids are with any situation, it's an immediate red flag to bullshite.

Thanks! I’ll ask concede to the collective wisdom of real, actual doctors. See how that works?

All that said, it’s clear that WSJ is not a left leaning rag, which was the original position I laughed at.

I'll tell you what I read. I clicked on the link in my email. I scrolled down to the Deaths by Age graph. I hovered the mouse over the bar for 0-4 age group, and I read, "Percent of Deaths: 0% (165)". The 165 is the number of deaths, which rounds to 0%.

Can you tell me where I went wrong?

Yes

The thread titled is "died of covid"

Johns Hopkins researchers are in the process of looking at death certificates of those children, I beleive its like 345 or so nationwide that died while having a covid-19 positive test

So far in their research, they have not found a single one that did not have a current disease the likes of leukemia

So, they are saying they dont think they have found a single case of a child dying purely "of covid"

They have no clue about whether a kid likes wearing a mask. I would say a teacher would be more qualified for this. See how that works?

ow it’s not trendy on the OT to be concerned for the kids, but this new strain is ripping through Little Rock pediatric community. Sure, they’re not all hospitalized at this time but we know more than a dozen kids in our own little circle that have it and they are extremely sick.

We knew plenty of kids who had it early this year and were barely even symptomatic. This strain is affecting kids differently.

Are they testing for RSV? That seems to be ripping the pediatric community up now. And the delta variant is said to be less symptomatic. Where as RSV is worse in littles.

My toddler is just getting better from RSV, it ravaged her daycare. She was sick as hell but pulled through it.

BTW, anyone in their right mind who wants young children to get a vaccine that doesn't have years of studies of side effects, are fricked up in the head. It's insane to fathom there are people out there like this. Older adults, yeah but children? WTF is wrong with some of you

Kids and young adults didn't sacrifice anything. They were sacrificed. Shameful what the "adults" have done to these children and the lessons they'll have learned from this insane behavior.

Ours had RSV and it was awful. He had Covid too and he coughed three times and had fever 1 day. He won’t be getting a vaccine for Covid but I would love for him to get the RSV vaccine but mine wasn’t premie enough to get it. Now he has asthma.
