He'll never work a Saudi (or any other Muslim majority country) show again. He should have just owned it and hung low until it blew over. Instead he's pissed off most of his home country and just about every country in the South Asian Pacific. Didn't like him in the Wrestling world, thought he treated his former gf and family like shite, and now he's just a fricking idiot who sold out to the Chinese.
(For those that don't know the business, China only allows a very limited number of foreign films in. Most action films include some Chinese involvement to get around it.)

This is true but if you really think all the people on here complaining about it wouldn't do the same exact thing for millions of dollars you are naive as hell. So both sides are being hypocrites.

Only one side is constantly virtue signaling about minority and BIPOC rights, systemic racism, etc. etc. And they're the ones taking money from a country enslaving a minority people and practicing actual systemic racism.

For a very long time, Taiwan also considered Taiwan part of China...just that the legitimate government of all China was located in Taiwan.
However, now that a whole generation of people have grown up in Taiwan with no association to pre-Communist China, a whole generation is now starting to consider Taiwan an independent country.
China does not like this, and China rules the celebrity and corporate class in the United States. Cena is just one of a long list of super cringey apologies. There have been similar apologies by companies for things as little as including Taiwan as a separate selection in a country dropdown menu.
