John Bel used an arbitrary regional approach to make a statewide decision

At this point there should be nobody defending JBE. He is 100% doing this for political reasons, and it can’t be denied any longer
There are two logical ways to do this:
1. Use statewide data to make a statewide decision
Or
2. Use regional data to make regional decisions
Instead, he decided to use regional data to make a statewide decision. It’s completely illogical and can not be explained for any other purpose than political games
Here is the “data” he used by the way. As you can seed, there is no data just words....

It's ridiculous that the entire state has to be shutdown or brought back online in unison.

And it that case the state should be open. If you are going to use regional data(which he did), make regional decisions
This entire thing is a mockery

He is 100% doing this for political reasons,
JBE once spoke at Edwin Edwards 90th birthday party and had him campaigning with him last fall and had him in his suite at the NFC championship game last against the rams. JBE is a fan of one of the biggest crooks in Louisiana history and is boys with him. He's the political twin of Edwin Edwards.
Everyone paying attention knew that about JBE. He's a political animal and a very cynical one to boot only focused on achieving his partisan objectives.
Sucks that it took a catastrophe like this crisis to make it obvious to the casual followers of politics.

I’d like to see the regional numbers without having to keep track everyday. There should be a chart and easily accessible.
If there is one, I’d love the info.

As you said, it’s political. Sounds like that’s a reasonable defense. If he cares more about his political career than the citizens of Louisiana, are you surprised? Louisiana and New Orleans should be used to that. Like it or not, most people with career aspirations do not stay in Louisiana.

Thanks a lot Baton Rouge and Monroe

Which is the problem. You've got businesses shutdown in minimally impacted areas because some city 2 hours away still has increasing numbers.
There has to be some kind of federal relief money tied to this like I've seen others suggest.

the federal government is going to own everything in the state of Louisiana before this is over.

The downward trajectory of positive tests as a percent of total tests
This is why total test #’s suddenly disappeared

I went to the LDH website and it’s right there on the front page.

It disappeared for 5 days and then magically reappeared 7k tests less after their audit. But somehow the # of cases didn't go down.

I’m really curious which parishes in region 4 are increasing, because the largest parish isn’t increasing and it has more than double the cases of the second largest.

The areas are weird too. Why is Denham Springs grouped with Slidell when it's 5 miles from Baton Rouge? Their cases would likely trend along the same line as the closest city.
