There are alot of people in this thread making fun of this.... I am telling you right now that it is alot more serious than his letting on. watch... A curfew will be set and some roads will be closed except for essentional personnel. I'm getting all the meds we need tonight and try to shop.
Relax, There is zero chance unless this is the end times, that we don't have access to meds and groceries even if we get sheltered. Being prepared aint a bad idea though.

Exactly. I understand stressing urgency, but he’s basically scolding everyone and saying that they’re not following instructions. The implication is that we’ll be Italy soon because we’re not doing what we’re told.
On one hand, he tells us the numbers will spike due to the testing, but then on the other he says all of the new positives are from exposures in the last few days. That is utter bullshite.
The motherfricker us begging for a catastrophe. I don’t know what he’s got in mind, but whatever dramatic move he’s thinking about, he’s going to do it one way or another. His mind is made up.

he said that louisiana is on pace for the worst case scenario,
he's going to have no choice to but to do a shelter in place soon..at least for nola and JP

Um, you sound like the dramatic one.

No he did not. He said they’ve run the models for it, he did not say we are on pace for it.

worse case scenario meaning louisiana will exceed it health care capacity in 7 days if the cases continue to rise at the pace their rising

My point is that the numbers are obviously going up quickly because cases are being confirmed now that we’re actually testing. You can’t judge our current ‘curve’ based on the tests that have only been run in the last 3-4 days. It’s not an accurate accounting.

If the worldometer is accurate Louisiana has fewer new cases today than yesterday.

Yes, during his press conference. He had to clarify himself, because he did not did not specify NOLA and Jefferson during his question to trump an hour before.

Im sure what he means is that louisiana is still in the process of ramping up testing...so we will get alot more cases, and until we ramp up testing to the max, we wont know if the curve is flattening
And that’s fair. But like I said yesterday, just because people haven’t tested positive doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty more out there that have it. Some are asymptomatic, and some just flat out won’t go to the hospital...some have probably already recovered and never sought medical treatment. Regardless of the scenario, hospitals aren’t being overwhelmed and people aren’t dropping dead en masse. People testing positive doesn’t really change that.
I’m in support of the social distancing though. As everyone should be who knows anyone elderly, or with cancer or any other disease on the long list that would make them particularly susceptible to this virus. I wasn’t trying to downplay anything, nor am I a chicken little...his vagueness is just annoying. He speaks every day and doesn’t really ever say anything.

If the worldometer is accurate
It updates several times a day. I don’t think it’s up to the minute. The most useful column to me is “serious cases.”
If you expand it out to worldwide stats, some countries are already on the downside of the peak.

I’d consider that a positive step considering there’s even more testing now.
