I just got off the phone with Battaglia.
He's dead.
He's dead.

I don’t believe in hell, I don’t think. But cocksuckers like this make me really hope there is one.
On the other hand, the incident itself(like so many others) makes it really hard to believe in any sort of benevolent God. shite.

There was another daughter that lived. She worked at Chimes in mid-2000's, and I worked next door, we were friendly and chatted often. She told me the story once, unbeknownst to me, because I asked what some flower tats and words on her arms meant...it was sobering and sad to hear the story in every sense of the words, and I sincerely felt for her.

What took them so long?
That’s the same thing I was thinking Walt. Took them 18 years?
If I had to spend 18 years in prison I’d be ready for death.
Texas actually did this guy a favor.

Philosophically I don't believe in the death penalty.....but if I did, I would throw the lever on him.

I feel the exact same way. Although I wouldn’t have waited 18 years

I am pro-life. As I get older I struggle with the death penalty. I know the arguments and understand. I just struggle with it personally. That being said, the world is a little better place today.
Here is the transcript of his execution. SOB had nerve to address his ex wife.
quote:
He seemed jovial, strapped to a gurney while witnesses arrived to watch his execution at the state's Huntsville Unit. As they filed in, he looked around and asked, "How many people are there? Oh, that's a lot." The one-time accountant even said hello to his ex-wife, Mary Jean Pearle, who was there to watch him die. "Well, hi, Mary Jean. I'll see y'all later. Bye," he said. "Go ahead, please." He closed his eyes for several moments, and shortly after the lethal injection was administered, he looked at the chaplain at his feet, smiled and asked, "Am I still alive?" Battaglia grinned and then sighed. "Oh, here, I feel it," he said. It took about 22 minutes for him to be pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m.

Wow. Dude even went out without expressing remorse. He truly was hardcore evil.
I also am pro-life and philosophically opposed to the death penalty but won’t feel bad at all that he’s not riding this rock with us anymore... and what a horrible legacy of heartache to leave in your wake.

Hopefully he's not related to the Battaglias from Monroe, LA.
I hate the idea of being related to any of these terrible people.
