Owning a business is probably the best bet. I own multiple businesses now and bring in seven figures pretty comfortably. Granted, I work all the damn time.

Everyone loves to use the example of successful tradesman who has 5 employees and 3 trucks on the road.

They don't talk about the 10 other tradesmen who thought they could do the same, tried in vain for 5 years, then went back to working for the aforementioned guy.

Yeah but that guy might have not been successful working for the man. Just because you are skilled at a trade doesn’t mean you will be successful as a businessman.
Elec, iE tech, mason, welder, mechanic all are making over 100k a year right now.

“Running a business sucks”

Guy that built my house said the same thing. He started out doing additions and remodeling,by himself and his retired dad would be his helper when he was needed.
Friends asked him to build them a house,he hired a crew and started building more. Our house was number 13 and his last one.Went back to working by himself and his dad.
He said it was too much bullshite- workman’s comp, payroll taxes etc. Then one of his guys wouldn’t show up on either Monday or Fridays.

He got into doing a lot of cabinet work, was swamped with that.Only needed a helper to deliver and hang them.I helped him a couple times when his dad wasn’t available.

You know one that makes a lot, but I can't do. Crime scene clean up. Make thousands to clean a single room.

It's very high paying.

Laying brick is a shite ton of work. It’s hard, always in the weather, and no one does it. But it seems like to me if a fella really got good at it he’d have all the work he could stand.

You can only lay so many a day, take into account weather and building your reputation to where you dictate the prices. Probably other trades more lucrative than being a real mason.
Run a bunch of bricklayers, you can make a killing.

Become an expert in your profession, particularly if its a profession that is inspected by the government. Turn your knowledge of gov regulations and how to pass inspections into a consultant business. Your talking about a thousand to a few thousand per day, depending upon scarcity of consultants and the quality of those consultants that are available.

There is money in jobs people can't do and people don't want to do.

Being amazing at a sport to the point of being professional is can't, plumber is something people don't want to do.

Some jobs fall into both. That's the money maker.
