It's still pretty funny. You don't expect someone working there to be a retired plastic surgeon.

What did you do before working here?
Well, I was a stay at home wife all my life and when my husband passed I needed something to keep me busy"

What did you do before working here?
I was the secretary for the city's utility department for 30 years. I retired and 8 months after retiring I was so bored I needed something to do so here I am?"

And you ma'am, what did you do before working here?
Plastic surgeon.

This is another suggestion, but what about like at Sam's wholesale or something? One of the people who hands out samples or something like that.

Since she's upbeat and money isn't relevant, what about volunteer work at hospitals or nursing homes? A lot of patients have no family, or at least get few visitors. At nursing homes, especially, a lot of the old folks have great stories to tell and love to have someone just listen. Or there's always the gift shop volunteers at hospitals.

This. There are a ton of older lonely people would love some social company. It's a huge part of depression among seniors. They could relate on a lot of things and it would be beneficial for her as well.

Honestly...How is she with numbers?

My mom is a retired nurse but loves meeting people and helping them. She's good with numbers so she started working for H&R Block doing taxes. If there was ever a job where people meet other people...it's during tax season.

The other option is to get her more active in a church type environment if that seems to be right.

Part time receptionist at a company.

Great for older ladies who like to talk. I have four and they split their shifts. We let them work out the schedule and it is mutually beneficial.

When my bitcoin blows up and I no longer have to be a day job slave I plan on volunteering at Cafe Reconcile a few days a week. It'll be a win, win for me - I get to help underprivileged, troubled youth and learn how to cook from some of Nola's best chefs.

Flower shop/greenhouse is a good one.

My mom worked peak season at one for a few years. She liked talking to people about what to plant and stuff.

I see a lot of retail jobs posted in here.... dont let her do that. Having worked retail outof high school and through college it sucks.

Maybe i am not a people person, but people are true dicks to retail people. It really jaded me to meeting strangers. Theyre all dicks.
