I don’t know what you do, but you have another alternative by moving to DFW, OKC, etc, and make more for the equivalent positions. NWA is typically a stopover for people doing their time in a Walton supporting business, not a perm destination.

Think long, think wrong.

What is your initial gut feeling? Go with it.

I’d choose A

Take the 80 and go above and beyond.

The 115 is fine but really that’s shite money for what you are laying out. I’d rather you just work me to death and then don’t call me.

If you want to make bank and don’t have a family there’s ways to do that. Long term this sounds like a shite plan if you want a family or a life.

If you want to stack cash for a few years and build a resume, fine, great, but be aware you have to leave or you are gonna have a wife who hates you and kids who are shite people because you showed them money is what matters.

Maybe not. Maybe your wife is a stud and loves you that much and can handle it.

I’ve literally seen one case of that and I’m not sure it’s not bc she isn’t ready to see him go. I do think she loves him if that helps.

80 is pretty good man. 80 with free time is awesome.

Good luck.

It’s 45-50 hours a week, that’s not exactly slave labor type hours. If you ever wants to make more than $115k, you’re most likely going to have to put in hours at some point.

Can you go back to A and negotiate more money? Tell them you have another offer on the table (hopefully they are competitors) and while you are not asking them to match, some additional salary would really push you into accepting their offer.

Job A, enjoy your life. Money comes and goes but time is the truly valuable thing.

Now with small kids, I’d lean A; but there are more questions that need to be answered.

Job A is 40 hours a week, but 2 hours to commute each day. You mention you can telework most days, but don’t say how many days per week. You go in 2-3 days a week, and your time at work is equivalent to Job B. Also, what is Job B’s commute time. Would you consider moving closer to A if you decide that route?

Job A can retire with pension in 20 years. B has a pension, but how long until you can retire. Also, at what rate do you get to retire? Avg last 3 year’s salary, percentage of salary, if you work longer than 20 years, can your pension increase?

How far away is Job B. A two hour commute makes Job A less desirable

Easy decision for me , A. Money may not he as good but it seems like it’s a lot less stressful.
