Jimmy Kimmel Gets Choked Up on Show About Dead Lion

He spent a good five minutes on his show devoting it to a story about a guy who killed a lion in Africa that had a tracking device on it. I don't agree with killing bears and lions and the like but jesus. It's a comedy show don't get into your political agendas on it. He basically made the guy public enemy number one on national tv then said don't harass him full well knowing the attention he brought to him would do just that. He then started to cry and got choked up towards the end of it. Why the hell are you crying about a lion you never saw? Was it your pet? I watch comedy shows to laugh not see you cry about animals.

This whole rigamarole with the lion really struck a cord with a certain type of peraon. I don't get it personally. I feel a little bad for all parties involved. That's about all the GAF I've got for this one.

In terms of environmental stuff, I'm definitely much more liberal. I definitely don't think man should try to hold dominion over nature or bend it to man's will, etc.But I think this story has gotten a bit too much attention in the grand scheme of things. Worse shite happens every day and no one gives a shite.

It wouldnt bother me one bit if someone put an arrow thru the guy that killed that lion.
They tricked the lion, they had tracker information because it was the most famous, somewhat friendly lion in Africa, they lured it with meat off the reserve onto private land. Shot it with an arrow that didnt kill it so it suffered for hours while they tracked it. Then they decapitated and skinned it right then and there. Plus he paid to do it. All around piece of shite who doesnt respect lives that he had no right to end.

I actually agreed with his thoughts for the most part (only approve of hunting if it's for food or population control) but don't use your show as a soap box platform. He then said things like he's not a man for killing a lion and that he probably has erectile disfunction. I agree the guy who did it is an a-hole but get over it.

Did they get that choked up about a girl shot dead by some psycho gump in a movie theater? About all the kids dying of cancer? The mass slaughters of innocents across the world?

It's really shortsighted. Think about dams or man made lakes. They have benefits, no doubt. But they also have been the cause of millions of animals' deaths and millions in lost economic opportunity that passes down the line to those who can't do a damn thing (yeah it's more complicated but you get the point(. But they are slow processes. No one bats an eye.
