I don't get the purpose of trophy hunting. What good does it do you to kill something like a lion, elephant, rhino, or whatever else have you, that was not threatening you? You're not killing it for meat, that's for sure. What's the fun in shooting an elephant with a 50 cal when you're only going to take pictures with it? It's kind of sickening to me.
I do have a problem with this, not necessarily with the story getting this much attention, but the whole ideology behind big game hunting.
I do feel a tad bit sorry for the guy, if he got played into killing the most popular lion of the area, then that's a bit fricked. But I don't have any empathy for anyone that signs up for safari hunting.

It's cool. I usually like your posts but you turned on the douche nozzle sometime yesterday. Is everything ok?
Yea, everything is fine. People getting bent out of shape over stupid stuff like this just annoys me.
Said the same thing about the Confederate flag stuff.

It's a stupid statement. Use one of the worst human in existence to try to make a stupid point. Talk about an actual strawman.

I haven't got bent out of shape about this one time. Take that shite out on the guys ruining his business and calling for his death. I said I hoped "mildly unpleasant" things happened to him. You know, like getting stuck in fricking traffic.

rhinos,
do they let anyone kill these under any conditions? I thought they were so threatened by extinction that the only deaths were natural or at the hands of poachers. Don't think I'd say the others are killed "for" their meat. Just an excellent use of the carcass after the animal is harvested.

Scruffy shoots at all moving targets. You just happened to be there.
Don't be there ever again.

uh, no. none of these animals can be "killed by anyone under any condition". these hunts are highly regulated
the rhino hunt last year cost the hunter $350k, which was depressed due to the fear of outrage over the hunt. it probably would have cost 2-3x as much if there was no fear of an outrage
the rhino he was allowed to hunt was old and past breeding, but it was still the top dog and wouldn't allow any other male rhinos to breed with the female population. he had to be killed or removed and was going to be regardless FOR their populations to grow.
so, either game wardens could kill that animal or move it to a zoo in europe and cost the government money (a very poor government) OR they could sell teh rights to kill the animal to help fund conservation efforts. which is the better option for rhinos in that country?

This is such a futile argument.
Because you've never heard of/experienced something you're not allowed to have it effect you?
I'd never heard of any of the people who perished due to terroristic actions but, yea, that effects me because I care about innocent life being destroyed. I never cared about that horse that won the Triple Crown but you bet your arse I was rooting for him to win. I've never cared about any specific animal before I heard about something horrible happening to it because, guess what, there are millions of animals on this earth and it would be impossible to care until something actually brings it to the forefront.
Judging people's "care" is one of the most ignorant things I've ever seen. I don't care about any one on this websites pets because I don't know them personally but I can honestly say it affects me, for however brief, when something happens because I'm not a monster and can sympathize with both the human and innocent animal.

for the record
the most annoying part of these mass faux outrage memes that drones pick up is their belief in their expertise on the issues after reading 2 biased articles. these assholes have to wait for 1-2 points to become memes before they speak on the issue, and then they push those memes like it's the motherfricking bible. OMLandshark syndrome

that isn't what Scruffy is talking about though

Makes sense he would get choked up about a lion being killed in Africa.....
Nevermind the tons of people killed everyday by genocidal maniacs over there.
Glad to see this moron has his priorities straight.
Total joke.
