Anybody old enough to remember his brother Billy Carter? The peanut farmer that got famous selling his Billy Beer when his bro became president. Wiki says Jimmy's brother Billy and his sister Ruth both died of pancreatic cancer in their early 50s.

While I do think he was the wrong man for the presidency in 1977 I think he would have been an excellent president at other times.
I hope he makes it through or passes peacefully. He did a lot more good for our country in his entire time of service than a lot of presidents that were considered better at that job.

Not the worst but bottom quarter. Stagnation, economic warfare with OPEC, malaise, and worst of all picked allowing a half dead Shah into the US which caused the Iran Hostage Crisis. Wow after typing that it was worse....bottom 5.

Jimmy Carter is responsible for entire generations of Iranian women and girls being abused and treated like cattle by violent theocratic men when he chose to ignore the 100% correct fact that the shah was our best ally in Iran and to swallow the snake oil fraud the Khomeini's were selling and completely punking him on.
Jimmy Carter made sure these were never ever going to be a common sight in Iran ever again.

First as President from 1961-63 when he was known as John F. Kennedy, then from 1976-1980 as Jimmy Carter. Both the same person.
