If the entire incident is what's in the video, of course that is indefensible. But that's extremely unlikely.
My point is it does not matter what the kid did prior. The correct response to any provocation by an officer is never to commit a crime of your own. You either arrest the person or you don't, they don't have the right to commit an assault an battery.
