METAIRIE, La. — Jefferson Parish schools are cancelling in-person parent-teacher conferences scheduled for March 16 and postponing all school field trips and assemblies for the present time.

The new procedures are being put in place immediately, according to a news release sent out by email Tuesday.

Parent-teacher conferences had been scheduled for March 16 - an otherwise off-day for students. Parents are now urged to communicate with their child's teacher via email or phone. Teacher emails are available at jpschools.org/schools, according to the school system.

You can tell it's public schools or it would be Parents Teacher Conferences.

Orleans Parish should just cancel school altogether because of poor rankings, lack of parental involvement and kids simply not giving a duck. And then blame it on Corona to save face.

This is just like the sports teams who have no suspended post game handshakes. All the while playing said sport with the same ball that they’re breathing/sweating/potentially bleeding on.

Idiots run amuck.

This is a dangerous game the media is playing by promoting fear around the clock with this glorified flu. It’s going to cost tax payers, businesses, and citizens billions of dollars.

Worried parents might ask the teacher why they're always sharing passive aggressive "everything is the parents' fault" "articles" on facebook

This is all you need to know that this is textbook media fear campaign.

Sure, report on cancelling classes, school, events, etc. But postponing conferences

This is somehow an actual news story. I fricking hate 2020

We need to close our schools. Testing is about to occur. No tests means no low test scores. Will someone think of the children?!
