I’m all for more small truck options. An actual cheap electric trucklet for Home Depot runs could be a game changer. I’ll reserve judgement until I see the concept rather than a factory mule driving around.

Hell, make it 4x4 for another 5k and you have a cheaper Polaris EV that you could “legally” drive to town in. Plus it would be roughly the same price as a used jeep wrangler.

Best case - 8 mile of range in a full sunny day.
Let’s say you could get a 200W panel on that tiny roof.
10 hrs of perfect sunshine will get you 2 kWh. In good driving conditions, that little truck could probably get 4 miles per kWh.

Definitely not worth it. Heinrich Fisker has been obsessed with putting solar on the roof of his cars. He did it recently with the Fisker Ocean. It adds a bunch of cost for very little real return.
It does add some appeal to buyers who want to believe that they’ll be 100% solar.
