They were all paying taxes genius. Actually, the private school families were likely paying most of the taxes. Some public school families were. And a good chunk of public school families probably paid ZERO property taxes

As someone who actually pays taxes, as opposed to “filing” and getting back $10K, I wholeheartedly support this

I answered your question.
It comes partly from trimming the bloated administrative staff at the district level and partly from a more economical use of the dollars they do get. Cut waste, of which there is quite a bit.

They budgeted for a thousand students but received money from people regardless of their attendance their or at a private school. Public taxes come in from everyone... that money is being divided and given equally. I dont see how that guy is lostm

I’ll give you just one example. It’s from my home district where my son attends school.
Seven schools total (5 elementary, 1 middle, 1 high). About 7,000 total students give or take.
Superintendent, 3 assistant supes, curriculum director, director of elementary and secondary curriculum under them. District athletic director, high school AD and middle school AD under them. Altogether, that’s at least $2 million in admin salaries right there.
Total budget is $74 million.

Maybe 2,000 private school students. Our largest private school is a world renowned boarding school that has a fairly minimal local student population.
We also have a second public school district in our area with a similar sized student body. So 14,000 public students and 2000-2500 private school students.

It's not about the dollars doled out by the schools!! It's the dollars doled out by the tax payers!!!! The schools don't provide shite. The people do and now the people have more power over the education of their children, as it should be.

Man some dumb people post on here.
No wonder this country can’t have nice things, you all vote
This is a monumental step in the right direction, hopefully more states follow the lead

To be this dense you must have been one of those 1000 public schools kids.
They’ll take the education funding and divide it between the 2,000 kids. The money will now flow to where it is best utilized.

I support this but Arizona isn't Louisiana. Bringing this here might be chaos with our population.
90% of the reason you pay private school tuition is to keep the riff raff out and allow schools to focus on learning. Not discipline.
And yes, I graduated from public school. It was a disaster outside the honors program and its classes, which kept the cocomos (dummies) segregated to themselves.

I paid $17k for first grade, I’ll take some back, I just bought a new farm.
17k for first grade? WTH? No you did not and if you did, you are a total Libtard. My daughter spent K thru 1st grade in that public crap. Her school was rated an 8/10. 75% of her class in public schools were unruly kids. The teacher would give my daughter and the other 25% of normal kids an iPad to read books from while she dealt with the hooligans. In first grade, my daughter read over 350 books. After the COVID crap where they basically sent handouts with no explanation, we put her n a private Catholic school. It’s 6K annually. 17k? First grade? Get a life.

As ridiculous as it seems, $17k for private, non-parochial schools is pretty believable. Not sure how that makes someone a Libtard.

I mean no offense if you are willing to pay 17k for a first graders education. Good for you. As a stay at home mom, thankfully due to my husbands hard work, I might go ahead and assume your kids were always raised by other people.? And if so, I see your point. I’m on the opposite of the spectrum. I stay at home with the kids and teach them everything they need to know before entering their school years. I’ve always looked at it as those (0-6) years of life are simply the best. As a mom that is. I don’t mean to demean your parenting by any means but you’ll never get back that little time of innocence before your kids start school. It’s the absolute best.

Taxes about to go up

Free shite for some to go to private schools that currently have parents that pay full tuition for their kids to attend.
It allows parents to use their tax dollars how they want.
Now, if you want completely do away with taxes for education and have people pay for their own schooling, I would be on board for that.

The amount of property taxes collected isn't being raised, is it? Don't tell me about cutting the public school budgets because there is a baseline to that spending that will need to remain in place for the students that remain.
The public schools will start to lose funding if less parents chose to send their kids there.
