why wasn't this the plan for Nola/JP all along?

Why would it be? This should never happen. And certainly not for this.

If I am not mistaking, per capita, it is spreading faster in La that any other state.

It’s not spreading. It’s already spread. I bet you anything that there are people with COVID-19 in lake Charles, Alexandria, Monroe, Lafayette, nachitoches, and everywhere in between, we just aren’t testing every single citizen yet.

And people on here said it would never happen...

It's coming to pretty much the whole U.S. just wait and see.

How much further can they go with this?

I'm all for trying to limit the spread of the disease/not over whelm health care but it seems we are going over board in many areas now.

And they are making it worse.

Cases of CV pop up.
Governor closes service industry except for pickups (and other businesses).
Grocery stores clear off the shelves.

More people are being tested and have it
Governor Boucher is floating the idea of "shelter in place".
What do you think people are going to do, when they no longer have the option to pick up food from a restaurant and EVERYONE has to go to the grocery store? More panic, more shortages.

The government is CAUSING THE PANIC by the actions they take. If you call for a "shelter in place" you will cause more panic. When you cause panic, more people will go to grocery stores to stock up on supplies that are already exhausted, meanwhile the whole "no more than 10 people, 6' apart" rule apparently doesn't apply to grocery stores.

Probably get exposed to corona. Just like they would have had nothing been done. And they will recover. Just like if nothing had been done.

Yeah but they miss a semesters worth of school. It just sucks. That’s brutal for a majority of these poor kids who will be behind the 8 ball now and people with the necessary means will vault over some of these kids after this is all over.

It is for the richest people in the city. It's accommodations are nothing short of decadent.

You have to have serious money to get into Lambeth House. The freaking entry fee alone is $245,000 - $615,000.

The problem is you’re okay with the steps they’ve taken and what they will do in the future.

Because it's about the optics of saying you did everything you could. Every rational person knows that the shite is already all over the place and that half the people who get it dont even know it.
