Nonsense.
The Jazz Fest is not dependent on Zurich money so it is free to change dates without Zurich consideration.
If you don't think weather conditions will generally be much better 3 or 4 weeks earlier then you are clueless.

WTF

The entire first weekend was rained on just last year, causing a bottleneck crowd the second weekend which was miserable.

I agree
French Qtr Festival could be moved and they could have Jazz Fest earlier
FQF is something you could do in late April, early May instead.

Zurich Classic doesn't have a choice other than moving up to Feb or March but it's hard to change the PGA calendar. It used to be in the fall but they couldn't get anyone to play after majors are over. It's not a bad spot if weather cooperates.

What about that Indy race they ran last year, what a disaster, didn't even get to keep the race.

Too many other festivals to schedule around. FQF was early April.

No one said it was dependent. Zurich has been the one offered different dates and won't move because of Jazz Fest.

I'm not saying that there haven't been some rainy days, I just don't recall any weekends like this one. It seems rare.

On the other hand, three out of the last four Hogs for the Cause have had major rain fall events hit them and they are 3 weeks earlier.
I just don't see the point in trying to fool the weather gods in S. Louisiana by trying to move it.

The timing and location of the JF has never changed since inception. Also, the very same weather and mud problems have plagued JF since its inception.

After all of these decades, and with the money flowing in for JF every year, they will not make changes.

and no one even noticed because half the people don't know who KU is and the other half that do, don't listen to KU.

Someone else said it but I will say it again, Hogs has been in late March/early April the last 4 or 5 years. At least 3 of those years Hogs had to deal with epic rain events. Its Louisiana in the spring, we have to deal with it.

Also another of a hundred reasons why JF will never change their general dates, JF never wants to end up on an Easter weekend, they avoid that by starting the last weekend in April.

Didn't know what side was the front or back, still don't think I could look atone and tell you the difference

Wrong.
Jazz Fest originally was held in Congo Square so location has been changed before.

The sunny days in April are some of the best weather we have here.

It rains almost everyday around 3pm during south Louisiana summers and is humid as hell. No one wants to sit in the sun for 8 hours in that heat.

Nothing needs to change. This spring has been record breaking levels of rain from Houston to the delta.

How about Jazzfest at Jazzland, plenty of parking.

Lakefront airport was a location that was thrown into the mix years ago. Not sure how serious that proposal was or if it ever garnered any serious consideration.
