All he did was show you Eddie didnt "knock it out of the park every single time" as you stated.

Why do you feel the need to come in here and take a massive dump in the thread?

It amazes me how upset people are getting over a reality competition.

Good business move by Food Network.

Two close competitors, I'd choose the better looking minority over the jolly, chubby guy every day

He does seem more marketable than Ducote imo. But the F/D board & social media have somehow turned this into a racial issue.

I think it has more to do with the Food Board's relationship with ducote

No kidding. While I disagree with the outcome, I can understand it and think he did a good job throughout the season. The publicity Jay got and how well he did should launch him into the food world much further after this. He's gonna rock it one way or another.

Paige: part of it yeah...there are a lot of people on here that have known him for a long time so it's certainly more personal to many.

Yeah its ridiculous. Also I kept up with most of the thread on the food board and they always put Eddie right up there with Jay.

I realize that he's the hometown guy and a number of people on here personally know him. But some of the comments I've seen on social media are beyond ridiculous. But not entirely surprising.

No doubt. I thought it was a fair outcome. I said just before the announcement that the other kid had no shot and that Eddie was so personable and Jay so passionate that either would be good for a show.

They were the best two contestants from week 1 on through. It was always going to be either 1 of those two guys. I thought Jay had the better overall season, but that Eddie finished stronger. It was a coin flip for me.

Nobody is going to go to dinner with you. You're a combative sassy pants poster.

Actually if the last couple of Food Network Star's seasons are any gauge, the only thing Ducote lost was the prize money. They both are most probably going to get a payday with Food Network shows.

You can look at some of the other posts in here and say the same thing for the other side.

People came into this thread with the intention of only stirring shite up. But that is what the internet has now become.

Oh really? Then why was he up for elimination at different times? He wasnt flawless and neither was Jay.

Look, he did great. This thread isnt about him so just quit the trolling.

This has now morphed into arguing that he's better off for having not won, which defeats the purpose of their initial anger.

Throughout the competition they performed very evenly, with Jay probably slightly ahead of Eddie (within the "rules" of the show - which don't match the rules of life). Either way, both proved to be viable TV personalities, and since that's the case the business aspects take over.

I think Eddie wins the business decision by a fair margin. Ex-NFL player, in shape (eye candy for female viewers), minority (in which there are currently none on FN). I don't think it's wrong for Food Network executives to think that Eddie can bring Food Network more money than Jay can - and in the end that's what matters.

I think they were pretty even the entire season. And you could tell early on it'd come down to those two. Business wise I think FN made a good decision.

Jay got great publicity from this and it will definitely help build his brand/name.
