It would’ve been much worse had those IED’s exploded. They were filled with nails. We’d be facing a death toll in the dozens with a hundred more injured.

Wife and I were on Bourbon the Friday before this happened and we both saw an unattended ice chest on the sidewalk that night. Obviously it could’ve been nothing but ever since this attack we can’t shake the feeling he or someone else might’ve been checking to see if it would’ve raised suspicion ahead of time. I’d submit a tip but if we noticed it, others did and surely someone’s reported it by now. Besides, I’m sure the FBI has already obtained all the footage from the days leading up to this anyway. Like I said I know it could’ve very well been nothing but it still sort of creeps me out that that could’ve been going on while we were there.
We’re going back this weekend to support the city. I usually hate New Orleans but we want to go back to spend money and support them.

Maybe they're more effective than the old timers.
Dumb story but anyway: There's a fake camera in front of my shop. An FBI guy once came in to ask for footage. I told him it didn't work -- camera's obviously from the 1990s -- and pointed up at the lack of any wires whatsoever. He wasn't convinced and looked toward the back of the shop and actually said "looks like there's more going here than selling records" and then looked back at me like that would convince me to hand over the footage. It was like a SNL skit.
