Or maybe he thought he’d be able to get away with the initial truck attack and move on to whatever phase 2 was.

Looks like they’ve already started cleaning the street right near the crash (see the blue awning)

There are still bodies in front of the truck that they haven't moved yet when I last saw at around 8:30pm
What in the world would they possibly learn in an investigation by leaving dead bodies on the street for almost 24 hours?

Do they deep clean bourbon st. every night? Smells like arse everytime I go.

Geez… that’s a pretty sick thing for Sidney to post

I was more concerned with preservation of evidence.

Shocked that nothing is still there and that they’re pressure washing the area less than 24 hours after the attack.

The city has a major event to host today. Showing that we’re cleaning up is not a bad thing.

NOLA terrorist attack
It's been over 24 hours and these words together still don't seem real to me. I'm still in shock that this happened so close to home even though we've all considered the possibility for decades.

I get it but literally showing the block where people bled to death.. seems a bit much

I can’t keep up with this thread anymore, but I saw a lot of “if this was a terror attack, why 3am and not midnight?”
Keep up, baw.
He had a detonator with him that malfunctioned. Those bombs across the French Quarter from Bourbon Street, the Cathedral, to JAX Brewery were all supposed to be plan A to kill as many as possible. They were filled with plastic explosives and nails. Those didn't explode at midnight like they were supposed to so plan B was to drive the truck through crowds that remained then get out and start shooting.

Landry had a great dinner last night Terror attack in the largest city he governs. Dude is all smiles and eating a steak dinner while the FBI is canvassing the city. Can you imagine the reaction if the Massachusetts governor went out to eat the night after the Boston Marathon attacks?
He is truly that fricking stupid and tone deaf. Read the room, you stupid frick. I’m not saying you can’t have a meal, but you don’t have to document it via social media while yucking it up with the staff. Maybe reach out to some of the victim’s families and offer sympathy you frick.

I get that he wants to send a message of resiliency but just like Cantrell, they're doing it in the wrong way. Yes, sure, go eat out in the city but don't take pics with smiles from ear to ear.

Showing another part of the Quarter would’ve been in better taste. Maybe a shot of the Cathedral.
But to post the exact location of where it ended and the illusion that it’s all being scrubbed away is in poor taste.

And just like that, victims' blood gets introduced to the city's sewer system. The street is getting ready for the next party.
Life goes on in such a tragically sad way when we die.

All I see is a street with a bunch of soapy water on it

It’s not an illusion that it’s being scrubbed away. It’s the reality of this morning. We will pick up and move on.
We don’t negotiate with Terrorists. frick them. Show them that we will carry on.
