WBMA chief meteorologist James Spann has voiced his support of the National Weather Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Spann’s post comes in response to Trump’s promise to cut the budget at the NOAA, which could undermine the agency’s ability to provide critical weather forecasts, thereby affecting people’s safety.
“This post is not about politics, but about support for my friends that work for the National Weather Service, part of NOAA, a federal agency. NWS meteorologists work long, hard hours serving the people of this country, not only during times of severe weather, but on the routine days as well,” Spann posted to social media. “Their service is absolutely invaluableIf NWS products and services are reduced, we all suffer…especially during times of life-threatening weather. “
Immediate 33% cut to NOAA and targeted for eventual complete elimination of the agency. If this goes through, and theres really nothing to stop it, , spring storm season and hurricane season will be interesting

Oh No!!! Wat will we do!!!!

Doesn’t seem like an area we need to cut. There is a lot more lower hanging waste.

What you'll do is get surprised by a fast moving Cat3 that blows up in the Gulf when no one is watching.

Hurricane tracking is WOKE and GAY, we need to go back to the days of the meteorologist drawing the cone on a poster board

Yeah, no. Someone will always be watching.

Sure we can talk about tracking hurricanes but NOAA also builds deploys and tracks buoys all over the world. Like early Tsunami warnings etc

They get their data from the NOAA. I love what Levi does but AFAIK he doesn't have a supercomputer in his basement.

Not saying they are the only providers but many weather apps get their data from… NOAA

Glad Trump is cutting funding for the weather machine
Let some hurricanes hit California for once

Spann is royalty in Alabama, but he will be a woke DEI hire by the end of the week.

I get that government is known to waste but we do need a lot of these services. I work with government data all the time. They aren't just drinking beer and fricking off all the time.

They deny knowing about Project 2025 but so far they're following Project 2025 to a T.

Yep. I was denigrated on the polio board during the election season for suggesting that:
1. Project 2025 is bad
2. Trumps entire circle is full of project 2025 queers
I WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!
