Pretty sure it killed it by severing the spinal cord with the bite. Or I guess at least paralyzed it.

Here's a CSB: I went to a private zoo/research lab deep in the Amazon and the head researcher gave is a tour of the animals. When it came time to show us the Jaguar, he stood away from the animal and let us look at it by ourselves. Then he stood next to us so the Jaguar could see us...the Jaguar ran from one edge of the large enclosure and jumped on the fence separating us from the jaguar in a split second. Scared the shite out of us.

It turns out the head researcher is the one who always gives the Jaguar it's medicine so the Jaguar fricking hates the guy. I'd love to know how many native people the Jaguar has killed in the Amazon over the years. The Jaguar is by far the most feared animal in that jungle.

Big cat week Nat Geo wild has a 30 minute show on Jags...badass cats indeed

They show footage of a Jag jumping from river bank down on top of caiman. The two end up in the water battling. Most of the battle is underwater with the Jag ultimately coming up with jaws clamped on the throat of the caiman. Jag drug the caiman up the river bank and disappeared.

Check out the link I posted. Makes the OP look like nothing.
