Surburban white kids gonna be upset... lucky for them, at this time this is just a restructure.
Another example of a company that had absolutely no room for error, and the moment this coronoa crap happened, their goose was cooked.

"Throughout this process, we will continue to provide our customers with the exceptional merchandise and service they expect from us, and we will continue all day-to-day operations, albeit under these extraordinary COVID-19-related circumstances," said Jan Singer, Chief Executive Officer, J.Crew Group in a statement.

I don't think the kids are hip to J. Crew. White suburban Gen X moms and dads are gonna be upset though.

No wonder they haven't shipped my shorts. I ordered them a week ago.

What do suburban white kids wear now? I have no clue. It seems like malls have been out of favor for a decade at this point. I know companies like Gap have been struggling for some time.

Fishing shirts and black socks?

I guess. I have a teen daughter and she wears a bunch of 80s looking stuff.
She and her friends don't seem to care about brands at all other than for shoes. I guess that's good for my bank account.

My son is 16. His entire wardrobe is Nike, Under Armour or Adidas athletic gear, Vineyard Vines, and outdoor clothing(Patagonia, North Face, etc.) He hates the Columbia fishing shirts a lot of his friends wear.
Daughter is 13 and I have no clue where her and my wife buy her clothes.

I hear Chess King and Merry Go Round are filing too.

I bought a pair of Killshot 2 from J.Crew in Houston last year.

That one in Perkins Rowe didn't do so well. It wasn't the best location on that back corner where there isn't much foot traffic.

HnM and stuff.
Long gone are the days of white suburban youth plastered in highly branded stuff like “ABERCROMBIE” plastered on your sweatshirt.
Now unbranded clothing is in. And why ASOS and HnM and the like have made such headway.
JCrew is painfully preppy. They had some good stuff but it wasn’t crisp. It was also unbranded (before that was cool) and was always wrinkly and faded and distressed. It was odd having frayed polos and slumpy wrinkly sun faded chinos.
Not surprised j crew is going under. They never had a strong following. And what is “cool” now is vastly different since the hipster uprising and the falling out of branded clothing.

Anyone remember the Merry Go Round in Cortana? When you walked through the door, the sales staff would pounce on you. They would follow you around the store and harass the shite out of you the whole time you were in there, basically screaming, “Buy something!!” Miserable experience.

I used to be a big JCrew person back in college. The quality of the materials they use has dropped a lot for me. I don't get the love for H&M that is some low quality shite right there. I do occasionally buy socks there though.

It was my favorite store in the mid to late 90's. Their jeans and khakis were the best fitting ones I could find back then. Haven't been to a J Crew in years now though.

I used to wear Structure clothes in HS.

Me too. Used to like them a lot.
J. Crew has been declining for several years now, both in design and quality.
