I thought Texas had world class infrastructure. They can't clear a dusting of snow and put down some salt?

We just got the weakest email to go home ever.

They may as well have said, we're sending this email to cover our arse, but you should probably stay.

This... it's not the infrastructure and shite, it's that people lose their fricking minds when it snows. It's like Ricky Bobby "I don't know what to do with my hands"...

They've been putting down the chemical solution since last night. But too many cars driving on it clears it off. The snow is hitting concrete, melting and then refreezing on the elevated roadways.....plus everyone quit working and headed home at the same time. with that many cars on the road, it would be a shite show if it was 80 degrees.

Warning to those in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area, this is going to be me in about 45 minutes.

I've never driven in snow or ice. Hell, today is the first time I've ever seen snow actually falling(seen it already on the ground) so this commute home is going to be fun!!!!

Everyone kept telling me all day there was no chance the roads would ice. My wife texted me on her way home a pic at a red light of icy roads, said she did a little sliding on the way.

73% chance I crash on the way home.

Fun!!!!

I was asking my boss about it this morning, we actually live near each other. I was asking if we should go home around lunchtime.

I was assured the roads weren't icy.

How bad is it? I have a son driving thru there to Frisco now. They are going to a YSU champ game wtf. I am glad they are staying overnight.

Looks like the show has subsided.

My wife just drove home from Frisco to McKinney, she did say there was a little ice on the roads, which was not expected today from what I saw on the news and just heard here around work.
