Very much underrated similar to the Texas Hill country, which is also underrated.

Texas Hill Country is not underrated. Maybe not well known, but there are celebrities by the bushel up there for the nice winters and no state income taxes.

I say good luck. Move where you want.

Why do some get up in arms about others leaving Louisiana?

My wife was always the holdout. I tried to move the family to NC in 2007 and she shut it down. She told me a few months ago that she'd be fine with leaving now asap so we started putting some things in motion but it might be a bit of a process.
go for it, man. You can always take trips back to games, friends/fam, fishing trips… which are great. But you will find those trips back keep confirming the reason you moved to be a good one, in my experience.

All you had to do was move across the river. I like it here in Bossier!

Congratulations! I’ve never regretted leaving for even one second. The best thing to come out of Louisiana for me was I-10! Ignore the vitriol of those who have obviously never left the state. Louisiana is a shithole.

Same as mine and I find the trips to be less frequent each year that passes. People acting as if BR has improved and isn’t a corporate chain restaurant hell hole of crime is in denial and projecting memories of their childhood onto the present.

My particular job doesn’t transfer. I’m stuck here for 17 more years. It sucks.

Every time I spent any time at all in Shreveport it felt more like I was in Arkansas/Mississippi/ Redneck parts of Missouri/ only part of Texas I didn't like, not Louisiana. It's more about you than where you live that governs your "feeling". Loser. I have met a lot of people from Mizzou, mostly asshats

I hope you aren’t one to complain about Californians leaving for other states. Can’t bitch about those people and turn around and leave that shitstain called Louisiana for a different state.

Good luck to you, I’m getting out in 2 years for contractual obligations. I’m tired of this shithole. It’s been bad my whole life and it just seems to be getting worse.

In two weeks I’ll be moving to southern Missouri in the Ozarks

Southern Missouri is pretty close to being God's country for sure. Course northern Missouri has way bigger deer. But they're getting the Elk hunting in southern Missouri now. There's also a wild herd of like 100 horses down there somewheres. Plenty of clear water down in the Ozarks too.
