Are you capable of discerning the difference between a choice to carry your cellphone with you and flock cams?
Also, what's the cell phone going to tell them? I drive from my house (where I'm registered to vote and file taxes) to work (which gives them a tax form every year). They already have those pieces of information.

Don't they sell flock blocking license plate covers now?

A very small portion of investigative analyst and investigators have access to Flock data. Not all LEOs.
17 fired after calls for audits in Georgia, this year. Including civilian employees and people not employed by law enforcement agencies being granted access. This is with limited audits and is just those who were dumb about it.

The La Governor just made a new deal that we all get to put QR codes on our cars as a tradeoff for not having inspection stickers.
They will track you. And reading QR codes are easier than license plates.

then why are the Flock cameras being put up everywhere?
They are at a price point agencies can afford and developed the network to be able share plate data between agencies. Interdiction task forces use it so catch people moving dope and money.

If you’re not breaking the law, then you have nothing to worry about. Bunch of anti-police and anti-law enforcement people on this board.

y'all really can't piece together why these are going up literally everywhere suddenly at the same time AI is being forced into everything?
And people wonder why AI datacenters can't be built fast enough when companies at large still aren't showing a demonstrable benefit from using AI.
The real AI consumer of 2026 is the government/military. Sure, someday in the future society/commercial businesses at large will be reliant on AI, but the hundreds of billions/trillions being poured into compute capacity today are being driven by government surveillance and military advancement.
ETA: and the "china is influencing us to dislike datacenters so they can "win"" is probably the least veiled US gov psyop I've ever witnessed. It's hilarious the retards that fall for that.

don't really understand why you're all so upset about license plate readers when you're walking around with a tracking device in your pocket all day long.
Almost like you don't see the difference between consenting to some amount of tracking (which the govt now needs a warrant for to access that data), and involuntary non-consentual warrantless tracking that has no restraints or legal guardrails, and is only metastasizing.

inspection stickers.
Another scam to rob you.
I'm almost 60 and have never been required to have an inspection sticker on my vehicle.

He doesn't understand it's not just about the plate. He doesn't know what bluetooth beacons are, and that Flock is gathering data from your phone, your Airpods, your smart watch, your dog's collar, the air tags and all your Life360 sensors, etc.

Should we be calling for that?
If you wanted to make a case for the readers using that argument I'd listen, at least
We all pay directly and indirectly for uninsured motorists.
At least 1 in 10 vehicles you see on Louisiana roads have no insurance.
That is ridiculous and is costing us money.
The one damn, daily thing plate readers could do to help, and per another poster, they can't even do that.

I guess not much. It would seem the marketplace for fake plates may thrive soon

It seems that you are having a tough time grasping that, despite the sarcastic thread title, these things are NOT simply license plate readers. Having a plate, not having a plate, having a fake plate, using uber, etc has virtually no bearing on the ability of these things to track your movements.
