Yes, everyone who lives there should just give up on trying to make it a better place, leave their homes and let the criminals take over.

Better yet, just wall the place and remove the police. Let the thugs kill each other off. Or send terminators in.

I feel like that's what the current mayor would prefer.

4AM is a dangerous time???? Figured people would've already been fast asleep by then. I get up and run every morning at 4am in and around downtown Houston. I've never felt threatened nor see anyone but passed out homeless people.

It is a supply and demand issue. We have too much supply of golf in BR to have multiple quality public golf courses

The NOLA apologist will say it's just different you don't understand.

They are half right. It is different, it's shitty and dangerous

what are the chances you would get mugged in the tourist part of another big city

At the edge of a sketchy part at 4am?

I know you'd have issues in Atlanta, New York, Baltimore, Boston, Philly etc...

want to be completely clear. I am not blaming the victim. At all.

But..........

A woman walking alone at 4:30 in the morning is running a higher risk of something like this in any city in America.

Statistics say the risk is higher in New Orleans than just about any City anywhere

No they don't. Not even close. Nola had a higher murder per capita rate, mostly thanks to black on black crime in the projects, but as far as robberies and general violent crime Nola isn't even in the top 10. Crime is a major issue right now and it needs to be addressed, but let's not pretend it's any worse than other major cities. Statistically, it's not. Crime is a well known problem of most major cities.

St. Louis
Detroit
Birmingham
Milwaukee
Memphis
Baltimore
Little Rock
Oakland.

crime is out of control and very bad

Check my post history m8, I've said it in nearly every thread like this

Why wouldn't it be...these are crimes of opportunity and you are pretty damn likely to be alone on many blocks at that time.

Don't kid yourself baw, downtown Houston has a ton of trash. Just because nothing has ever happened to you doesn't mean it's safe.

Is this where we blame the victim of violent crime so we can ignore that New Orleans is a third world city

Or, you know, the city could be safe and you could just walk through it without feeling threatened all the time.

Hate to be that guy, but walking alone at 4 AM in the quarter, especially as a woman is basically asking for it.

This was between the Quarter and Iberville projects. What could go wrong?
