No idea where that is at. It was the name of my chocolate lab which came from George Costanza’s PIN #.

My mom died when I was 20 and it seemed like it triggered alziemers(spl?)/dementia in my grandmother. It was a very tough time in life but I stayed by my grandmothers side until she passed.

I've seen both.

Same. Father died of cancer at 57. It was shocking watching a strong vibrant man wither away. Awful. frick cancer.

Yeah, it was Christmas 2004 for me. I cooked my usual dinner- or so I thought. Time to pull everything out and it was all cold and raw. She had gone behind me and turned off every oven and stove so the house wouldn't burn down. We ate sammich meet for Christmas dinner. I tried to explain to her what she'd done. She never could understand. Was very depressing.

My aunt is in her late 50’s and has Alzheimer’s hard to watch her not know who we are where she at or anything. My uncle is a damn saint as he never leaves her side

Enjoy the times they are lucid. Bringing them to a new environment (i.e., anywhere except their house/living facility) will exacerbate the problem.

It was similar with my dad before the cancer really took over, I came over to the house and he was sitting in the living room (at that point it was my mother and him by themselves) and he asked me (thinking I was my brother) if I had gone out and made sure the boat was tied up right...

I'm up here thinking "how in the world do I ever answer this"...so my answer was, "Daddy, I don't know about the boat, but I did go out and check the shrimp boxes." which was a reference to when we had catfish lines and river shrimp traps out in the river at Belle Chasse...

On a more positive note, I urge all of you to look into drinking Fuji water, which might have the ability to prevent dementia and other similar diseases by reducing aluminum from the brain and body. It's not conclusive but it's well worth the effort.
Sounds like quackery.

I could write a million things, but I will just say I am so very sorry you & your family are going through this, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through.
As others have said have patience & grow a thick skin & remember that the person saying those things is not your grandmother.
Good luck & God Bless
