It's a Mad World...

I thought everyone might like a break from all of the Coronavirus threads so...
Way back in 1982 the band Tears for Fears had their first charting hit: Mad World. It would quickly be overshadowed by their follow-ups of "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". Still, it was their first charting hit.
Almost two decades later the song would end up getting vastly improved by Michael Andrews and Gary Jules when they slowed it down and significantly scaled back the musical accompaniment. This version is the most well-known and has not only been featured in the cult movie Donnie Darko but was the theme for the tv commercial for 2006's Gears of War video game. Mad World 2002
Flash forward to the present and Tears for Fears' Curt Smith performs the latter version with only himself singing lead while playing bass and his daughter playing lead and singing harmony. Mad World 2020

The best Tears For Fears song is Head Over Heels, undoubtedly.

That and it sounded pretty much like every other Euro synth-pop song out around that time.
