I would prefer the school board not have a vote on tax policies anyway. Isn’t hat what politicians are for?
Completely agree.

This is a new day for a new type of economic development in Louisiana,” an excited Dianne Hanley, a leader of Together Baton Rouge, said afterward.

These dumb asses don't have a clue

After the vote, ExxonMobil representatives sound a more cautious note.

While the company is in a growth mode in Baton Rouge, with plans to add hundreds of jobs at its refinery this year, such growth can’t be taken for granted and future projects could go to Texas

Congrats Together Baton Rudge...you stupid fricks!

Well they are gambling that this ITEP isnt enough to discourage development. If they go elsewhere we can blame these morons and run them out of town.

This is just another example of why people in the St George area want to distance themselves as much as possible from the EBR school system.

Don't worry, West Baton Rouge Parish voted to give the ITEP to Exxon. They said the economic illiteracy ends at the Mississippi River.

30 years ago iberville made a similar mistake as EBR.

They have not made it since.

The economic impact of this industry cannot be understated.

Anyone who actually drives through the country, as opposed to flying to vacation spots, can attest... Louisiana is doing a helluva lot better than 90% of the country.

I truly hope Eddie Rispone can fight his way to becoming our next governor. He would clean this kind of shite up.

What an absolute joke. Guess I need to reconsider my boss’s offer for me to transfer to Corpus Christi for their $8 billion project...

No, he's saying that's the proper government structure and I agree with him. Compromising the structure of democracy because you don't like the local leaders is a dangerous precedent. It's the same thing as states rights but at the local level.

what i can't figure out is how did a group in 2015 only raise $310k jump to well over $1m in 2016, after JBE became govenor. who is funding them and I know it has to be local support.

This is exactly why JBE kicking ITEP down to the locals was so incredibly damaging as they cannot be trusted with it.

3rd Worst governor this state has ever had behind Huey and Edwin.

Curious why you would turn it down? Family reasons? Taking care of a sick loved one?
