There was a story last night about a Ft. Worth retirement home who has had a recent death from C-19. Gov. Abbott assured all residents they would be tested... yesterday, Tarrant County DoH said they have no plans to test the facility at all. However, the facility is on lockdown. People have no answers. "wait and watch" is how Tarrant County is handling it.

I'm thinking numbers aren't what some in power actually want. Almost seems like we have to suppress numbers to make sure we're not "in the lead..." on the tote board. Something seems off. Testing in the USA is incredibly low all things considered.

Funerals and weddings are currently banned there.

Their healthcare system is overrun, which is what we are trying to avoid here.

You’re assuming that the spread wouldn’t have been worse without the shutdown.

Italy has one of the worst aging populations in the world, bummer for them. I am surprised Japan isn't doing just as bad, but Japanese people seems to be immortal.

I mean their death rate is staggering and it really sucks, I’m more taken aback at how many new cases they are getting on a daily basis though.

Lockdown only helps limit, not stop, new cases.

Doesn’t stop the already infected from dying.

Just adding a little context here

Take away from the chart is Lombardy has 65+% of all deaths, and just under 50% of all cases

We all keep saying "Italy is a disaster", but that one region is basically been overrun. It's what's probably going to look like in the USA if/when NY or LA go full bloom, because of the size of those areas the overall numbers look horrific but it's not evenly distributed across the country

Lombardy has 22000 cases in a population of 10 million, Emilia-Romagna has 6000 in a population of 5 million. And there are reports that in Lombardy, they have given up testing because it's so bad, so the numbers might actually be LOWER than what is reported

More testing would reveal that this thing has already spread like wildfire. It would also reveal the mortality rate isn't all that bad at all.

And yet the Chinese have some of the oldest people on the face of the planet and stopped their coronav deaths over night.

Largest population of supercentenarians on the planet is in China. Italy is not even close.
