Stop trying to make that place a bar.

Said every first time bar owner-
Just because the last five (six, eight) tenants didn't make it there doesn't mean I won't, my concept is unique.

Is that where Ricochet’s used to be? Loved that place, spent many of nights in there.

They should've named it "The Bogies Pregame Bar"

Make it an all black club.

Tell that to The Bullfish. They seem to be the longest lasting restaurant at the old Cou-Yon's Southgate location which has gone through 3 previous tenants ( I thin)

I don’t know anyone who has ever been there but it somehow stays open

They've had some incredibly incompetent and irresponsible people try to make a bar there.
I think one can succeed, but it has to have a better business model and they need to change the layout on the inside.
I think something like this would work:
- Really good, but cheap bar food that serves until late both inside and outside a window to the street (think F&Ms)
- Has a new centralized, round bar on the inside with lots of TVs
- Great happy hour discount for students (free drinks for 2 hours or whatever)
- Small footprint stage with decent live music on off nights, DJ on big nights
ETA:
and most importantly, have an owner that doesn't constantly break the law and/or get high on his own supply and give free drinks to everyone he knows
And "Dead Poet's Saloon" is a horrific name. They need to stick with the 1-name standard.

Leroy's still lasted longer, although not by much.

I've always thought that location would kill as a 24-hour breakfast diner.

Sounds like somewhere that hipsters would congregate...someone tell these guys that The Cove, Radio Bar, and the Spanish Moon already have the corner on the market?

None of those places serve food (except occassionally Radio Bar does on Sundays). If he serves food, he could establish himself as the new Chelsea's/Northgate Tavern. I think there might be a sizeable enough market for a hipster live music venue, that also serves cheap bar food, in walking distance from campus.

Dead poet's and saloon seem to hint at two different concepts... what the hell is this going to be?
