Me, I don't know anyone who has died from covid nor do I know anyone serious enough to be hospitalized.

On the mask efficiency. I think of the masks like this...can a shrimp trawl net stop a gnat from passing through it? Because your mask looks like a trawl net to a microscopic virus.

Would they have allowed millions to riot in the streets for BLM and joined them if this virus was as serious as they propose?

No one I know personally has died from COVID. Closest death due to COVID to me is my MIL'S cousin's husband, who I never met.

The issue with covid, is that covid isn’t killing these people, the underlying health conditions are.
What do you mean that's the "issue" with covid?

Here’s the rt chart as of December 3. Louisiana is slightly above 1
Yeah looks like Louisiana is at 1.01 at the moment, which means for every 100 infected people, they are collectively infecting 101 new people. Case numbers grow. If it were down to 0.99, those 100 people would infect 99 on average. Case numbers shrink.

So masks don't need to be perfect, and nobody thinks they are. They just need to make a 1 or 2% difference to make the cases numbers stop growing and start shrinking. If they make a 5% difference, cases drop even faster. It's such a simple thing to do to limit the total who get infected before people start getting vaccinated, but some people just want to fight it the whole way. Like OP here who thinks masks are pointless because there's a small chance you could get infected via your eyeballs. frick, man, just do a little bit. It helps.

Two people...both in the late 80’s and with a boatload of health issues.

Coworkers dad died, he was 85.

Science never said "shut down industry" that was politicians. Science is mixed on the effectiveness of masks because they way we use them is a huge waste.

It seems the smart thing to do would be isolate at risk people and let everyone who chooses to live their lives. Now, some states and cities are requiring people in good shape to stay in their homes.

That's beyond unreasonable.

If the Chinese Flu has actually killed 1/5th of the numbers the propagandists try to convince us of, I'd be shocked.

A virus that you can get 5 feet away but they have to stick a swab up your nose to your brain to be able to detect if you have it. I'm 54, diabetic and had it............Ive had worst colds!! SCAMDEMIC!!

Don't blame me for the fricking shutdowns, I'm 100% against them. People have been fighting the masks and distancing and other precautions the entire time, and now they're all "this shite ain't workin!" Yeah no shite.

I love that you ignore all the countries that do follow all that shite and still have COVID to deal with.

You are easily the biggest phony intellectual on this site.

Who is ignoring it? Who said that we can even eliminate covid altogether? The only thing I ever talk about is limiting the impact via personal responsibility.

How low is the bar around here that talking about wearing masks and washing your hands to slow the spread of disease comes across as trying to be an intellectual?

Putting on a mask is life changing? Let's assume 99.7% is correct, that's about 1 in 300. If 1 in 300 planes crashed and killed everyone on board, would you get on an airplane? I'm not saying we should be "scared to death" or whatever, but it's not something to ignore, either. Get some perspective.

I hear dudes less than 5’10
Dudes that wear glasses
Dudes that can’t bench press more than 180
Dudes that are going bald with the big monk patch are more susceptible to the virus
