Scientists and doctors all say wear the damn mask why the frick is this so hard for people?
No, they don't. Hell, the political hacks in the CDC have waffled back and forth on masks numerous times.

Maybe cause it is the #1 killer in the country now.
I welcome it due to my health, but there are others I pray that they don't come down with it.

Seeing what the flu did to him makes me more scared of it than I am of Covid-19 based off these accounts.
Statistically you would be correct to be more fearful of the flu for those under 18. It seems to be much more dangerous based on the numbers for that age group than covid. Texas released numbers on school aged children recently which showed this.

Lol. November and we're still debating masks. Hmmm who should I listen to, hundreds of thousands of doctors, dozens of studies, overwhelming anecdotal evidence, all clearly demonstrating that masks work, or the OT?
I'm 90% sure that the you mask deniers are being manipulated by China and Russia.
Like all the stupid cotton cloth masks most people wear? LOL... that doesn't do shite, except make the wearer feel good... that or they are just wearing it so others don't give them shite, and they know it is useless.

Statistically, you're correct.
Yet, my two coworkers who are obese, one with diabetes and preexisting heart troubles, should have, statistically, not faired well with their Covid-19 illnesses based off of their poor health. Thankfully, they both had very good outcomes. I'm not taking away the seriousness this virus is for some, but telling everyone to live in a bubble isn't very healthy either.

Not addressing you specifically. Yours was the last post in the thread and I hit reply.

“Leaders” have said to wear a mask to protect others and so did the cdc. CDC lately has said that it can help the mask wearer.

Let me appeal to your logical side.
If the virus was as deadly as you imply and as the politicians keep harping, would people like; JBE, Gavin Newsome, Lori Lightfoot, Nancy Pelosi, etc. continue to break their own edicts by going to restaurants without masks and without social distancing?
Would they have allowed millions to riot in the streets for BLM and joined them if this virus was as serious as they propose?

2018 from the CDC
Number of deaths for leading causes of death:
Heart disease: 655,381
Cancer: 599,274
Accidents (unintentional injuries): 167,127
Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 159,486
Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 147,810
Alzheimer’s disease: 122,019
Diabetes: 84,946
Influenza and Pneumonia: 59,120
Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis: 51,386
Intentional self-harm (suicide): 48,344
The issue with covid, is that covid isn’t killing these people, the underlying health conditions are.

At this point is there anyone that doesn’t know someone that died after being infected?

I don’t know anyone that has had a serious case, or died.

If there is one positive about masks, it’s that I can sometimes avoid being recognized by people I know but don’t want to talk to.

I do not know a single person who has died from COVID 19. And I am aware of or related to less than 50 (high number probably) that have contracted it. These are people of various ages, races, etc. All but 1 have recovered 100%. The other has had ongoing health issues for most of their life and yet she is still not really suffering from COVID, just some annoying after affects.
