Why hasn't the West forced integration on Israel similar to that of the anti-Apartheid movement that broke South Africa via divestments?

Some of us realize that the Palestinian leadership has no desire for peace. How can you negotiate with people who think you should not even exist?

It wasn't that clear-cut of a deal, but I will freely admit that Arafat was a piece of shite and that the hardliners on the Palestinian side will prohibit significant progress...as will hardliners on the Israeli side.

Their charter clearly states that they won't stop fighting until Israel ceases to exist.

That's true about Hamas. Hamas does not = all Palestinians. I bet it would come as a shock to some of you that there are a large number of Christians in Palestine.

I'm admittedly no expert but I have read a bit on the zionist movement and the establishment and history of the country of Israel.
The Arabs that surround them have been seeking the extermination of the country pretty much since its inception. If they had their way the whole people would be pushed into the sea.
If they want to even survive it seems to me that Israel really has no choice except to maintain and use a robust defense and react vigorously to outright attacks like these extensive launching of rockets into their territory.
I think they learned their lesson after the Russian pogroms and the German final solution that being the victim is not really the way to go.

Remember when Ehud Barak offered Yasser Arafat everything he was demanding for Palestinians, 95% of the West Bank and Gaza, half of Jerusalem and an independent state of their own? And Arafat and the Palestinians refused.
