FOX just reported, quoting a Hamas official, that they will start executing hostages for every civilian casualty from Israelis bombing. And, my take, no doubt they will murdered on video.

My phone coverage sucks right now, said ministry of finance and ministry of transportation building destroyed.

No idea if thats true or not.

I think everyone here should be reading the writing on the wall in that this is not going to be a short endeavor. The second battle of Fallujah lasted 6 weeks and, to your point, that was us.

This is going to take months and a lot can happen in a few months, geopolitically speaking. Thats a long time to deter escalation beyond the affected area.

Nobody is appealing to the middle here, at least not me. What happened was unacceptable and people need to die. I'm talking about responding to seeing videos with "Palestine needs to be wiped off the face of the Earth. (Palestine as a whole) is evil."

There is no state/country of Palestine. There is a governmental entity (2 actually, Hamas in Gaza and the PA in the West Bank) that *sort of* self-govern a group of people within a specific region - 2 groups that are sort of one, but not really, but kind of separate, but technically the same.

This is precisely why I'm saying blanket opinions, judgments, and statements should avoided.

There is no monolithic entity covering "the Palestinians."

There is the West Bank and there is Gaza.

There is the Palestinian Authority (PLO/Fatah) and Abbas, and there is Hamas.

The PA has its supporters and detractors, both internally and externally.

Hamas has its supporters and detractors, both enternally and externally.

The PA and Hamas as much foes as they are friends. Only recently has Abbas/PA started kinda playing nice.

They'll *somewhat* support each other against a common 3rd party (Israel ... sometimes), but they have wildly differing views on how to go about affecting change and getting what they want.

And then, within the WB, you have major population centers that are dominated by various offshoots of various other organizations. PIJ, PDFLP, etc., etc. etc.

It's a massive patchwork, nowhere near monolithic in nature...which is precisely why these overarching statements are ridiculous, foolish, and dangerous.

The Palestinians are a conquered people who don't know they're a conquered people.

Once the rest of the world stops lying to them about this most ridiculous notion that they'll one day have a fully autonomous state and once Israel finally decides to put that lie to bed by fully subduing them, will the Palestinians begin the process of integration into Israeli society.

The Palestinians have to be shaken from this lie, this fantasy. They're a broken and conquered people. It's now time to flush them from the matrix and expose them to this truth. Subdue them, integrate them and move forward under one unified Israel.

Maybe this event will trigger what finally needs to happen. They have to be stripped of all hope before they begin anew.

Yeah, because you can always trust people who already slaughtered some civilians and then kidnapped others. Most of whom appeared to be young women.
